Permanent Platforms  
     

Power Climber Permanent Platforms or Buildings Maintenance Units (BMU) are combined with roof cars, monorails or davits, to make Permanent Installations for window cleaning and maintenance.
Also known as Window Washing Gondolas in Asia, Power Climber's Permanent Platforms have become the industry 'standard' for BMU's and are purchased by Building Maintenance System manufacturers and installers worldwide.

Power Climber BMUs meet or exceed the special requirements set by European Standard EN1808 for permanently installed building maintenance units.
     
 



Standard features of Power Climber Permanent Platforms:

  • Powered either by PC400 or Astro hoist.
  • Motorised wire winders to store steel wire ropes (suspension and safety ropes) with up to 200m capacity
  • Cable bin to store electrical supply cable
  • Protective cladding against falling objects (compulsory for EN1808)
  • Bottom limit trip bar
  • Top limit an ultimate top limit switch
  • Electrical interlocks on safety devices
  • Low voltage controls (compulsory for EN1808)
  • Automatic self-levelling system

The standard length for a BMU is 2m. Other lengths are also available. Power Climber engineers are experts in custom designing special size (and shape) Permanent Platforms. See Special platforms.


BMU Workcage:

For use by one person to access zones of limited surface area or where it would be difficult to fit the larger BMU platform. They are fitted with: Astro hoist, motorised wire winder, cladding, bottom limit trip bar, cable bin, top limit, and ultimate top limit switch.

Suspension System for Permanent Platforms

Permanent Platforms are fixed to a variety of suspension systems, such as monorails, davits and roof runners. The specific suspension system selected will depend on the characteristics and architecture of the building.
